John Pawlak is an L.A-based singer/songwriter,recording artist and producer who hails from the ghettos of Detroit, MI. John started playing guitar at age 9, taught by Willy “Wishbone” Weaver, a Motown blues man who took John under his wing and raised him to be an excellent musician and a fine young black man. At 27,John left his dead-end job as a ham smoker, trading frigid winters for the balmy haze of Hollywood. John still performs occasionally but is best known in South Central as “Smokey J” for his prize-winning BBQ ribs and sauce.
